2. October 2025 Updates
- Women's Forum Charity Fundraising: Our Women's Forum Charity Fundraising event, the Onam Sadhya, was held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, and was a great success! Heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and contributed. Special thanks to Jaisy George, who led the Women's Forum, as well as all team members and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event possible.
- World Mission Sunday: We observed World Mission Sunday at our church on October 19, 2025. If you were not able to make your contribution that day, you may still do so next week.
- Couple's Retreat: We’re excited to invite all married couples to our Couple’s Retreat (English). This is a special opportunity to reconnect with your spouse, reflect on your marriage, and grow deeper in Christ. We encourage couples to attend and grow together in love and in faith!

- Jubilee Celebrations / Convention Kick-Off: The celebration of the diocesan Silver Jubilee and the Episcopal Ordination Jubilee of Bishop Emeritus Mar Jacob Angadiath will be held at our church on Sunday, October 26, 2025. We warmly invite everyone to join us for this special prayerful celebration of gratitude! The 2026 Jubilee Convention kick-off will also take place on this day.

- Parking Lot Construction Project Update: We have received approval from the City of Garland for the parking lot construction project.

- In the last Parish Council meeting held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, we selected a contractor. On Thursday, October 16, 2025, there was a meeting with representatives from the City of Garland and the contractor. Everything is ready, and we are now waiting for the Bishop's final approval. If approval is received, a groundbreaking ceremony is planned for Saturday, October 25, 2025, after the 8:30 am Holy Qurbana.

- Parish Council Selection Circular: We have received the circular from the Bishop regarding the upcoming parish council selection.

- Two of our wards, South Garland and Sunnyvale, will be divided before the next parish council selection.
- Sacred Heart Cemetery - Special Promotional Sale: Sacred Heart Cemetery officials have informed us that a special promotional sale of burial spaces is ongoing until the end of October 2025. A 14% discount is available, along with up to 60 months of interest-free financing on a 10% down payment. 3. Upcoming Events
- St. Thomas Revival: The St. Thomas Revival will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Jubilee Hall. It will be a social gathering to reconnect, revive, and renew our St. Thomas community. Parents are kindly asked to encourage their young adults to participate.

Note: Many of us know that several graduates of our CCD program, now settled in Dallas, aren't returning to our church. Why is that? They may have their own reasons, and perhaps there are changes they’d like to see at St. Thomas.
To address this, we’re inviting all primarily English-speaking youth and adults to the St. Thomas Revival Social Event on November 8, 2025, in Jubilee Hall. This will be an opportunity to discuss why some may not be coming back and explore ideas on what could help bring them back more consistently. Parents, please encourage your children who live in Dallas but attend a Latin church to join us. Young adults, please spread the word to your friends as well. We look forward to hearing your thoughts!
- FLAME 2026: FLAME 2026 is a regional conference hosted by DYA South for college/post-graduate age students. It will be held January 2-5, 2026, at Trinity Pines Conference Center in Trinity, Texas (near Houston). Regular registration ends on October 5, 2025, and late registration ends on October 31, 2025.
