2. June 2024 Updates
- ParishOnNet Access: As per Diocese guidelines, we are initiating ParishOnNet access for the Parishioners from this week onwards. We plan to complete this initiative as soon as possible. Our church accountant, Mr. Boby Johnson, in cooperation with Mr. Emil George, will be leading this activity. We will need support from the Parishioners to provide 100% access in a timely manner. You will be receiving a password reset link to your email as per the Church records. Once a new password is created, you will be able to log in with the updated credentials. These are the features of ParishOnNet:
-
- Accessing Family and Family Member records.
- Reviewing sacramental records (including Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion, and Marriage).
- Making one-time or recurring Pledge, Offertory, Donations, etc. using the online Payment Portal.
- Registering for CCD, VBS, IPSF, IPTF.
- Tracking church contributions, viewing tax statements, and monitoring pending balance reports.
Please save the ParishOnNet link for our Church.
- Volunteer Work: We encourage parishioners to dedicate some of their time to volunteer work. A sign-up sheet is available in the Narthex for those interested. Your cooperation is appreciated. Please consider signing up.
- Private Usage of Church and Parish Hall: We need to establish clear guidelines for the private usage of the church and parish hall. Our review of the church records revealed no existing General Body or Parish Council guidelines or decisions on this matter.
-
- During the Parish Council meeting held on Sunday, June 9th, it was decided that no private programs will be allowed after 5:00 pm until the next General Body meeting, at which time new guidelines will be established. This rule does not apply to those who booked the parish hall before June 9th.
-
- Following the Chicago Diocese Bishop's approval of the new guidelines, we will implement them accordingly.
-
- When using the church and parish hall for private events, please ensure that the sanctity of these spaces is preserved by maintaining an atmosphere of reverence and respect at all times.
- Parking Lot Construction Project Update:
- The church land, previously divided into two survey numbers, has been resurveyed and consolidated into a single plot (new plat). We were previously paying property taxes for our land under separate plats. With the new plat in place, we are not obligated to make any further payments.
-
- On June 6th, the new survey report, along with the plan for 141 parking spots, was submitted to the Garland City authorities for approval. A copy of the submission has been posted on the church notice board.
-
- After the city approves the submitted plan, we will need to secure a contract.
-
- If we receive the funds from those who have pledged, we will be able to complete the entire project, which includes 141 parking spots. Otherwise, we will only be able to build as many parking spots as the combined total of received funds and the available church balance allows.
-
- We kindly request your cooperation in providing the necessary funding for the project.
- Parish Council Meeting Decision: The parish council meeting held on Sunday, April 14th, unanimously decided that those parishioners who are in the Church Committee, CCD Teachers, Choir Members, Senior Ministry Committee Members, Mathru Jyothis Committee Members, St. Vincent D'Paul Committee Members and other church leaders of various activities should be Role Models of the church and maintain their monthly/yearly pledges and pay the previous year's balances if any. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact one of our Kaikkarans.
- Offertory Collection: When placing your offertory collection in the envelope, please ensure to write your name and clearly state the intended purpose of your donation.
- Church/Parish Hall Booking: To secure a booking for the church or parish hall for various purposes, individuals must complete the necessary form from the parish trustees' office.
- 2024 Syro Summit: Seize the unique opportunity to participate in the 2024 Syro Summit: "Christ is our Hope", designed for youth aged 21-35, in Baltimore from June 27-30. Ensure your early reservation and become an integral part of this enriching experience. For details about this event, please click Syro Summit 2024.
- Please include your church registration number in the check as part of the memo when you write checks to the church.
